about

Broz Rowland's debut EP.

"I recorded this album on an old Teac 8 track that Free Reelin' studio owner Ken Kenneally rented me that summer for one month for $100, in Renae Einsphar's (Bodyhouse lead singer's) storefront after-hours! I used my Tascam cassette 4 track porta-studio as my recording console. I had 3 boss guitar fx's, a Fender Mustang bass, a Korg Poly-800, a 71 Gold top Les Paul (no amps--I went direct) and a tiny Yamaha RX-15 drum machine... and that was it! I did get to mix the master down through a decent board at the studio. I had to pay for the studio. It was $10 per hour! Jeeez... I basically produced my first EP/album for around $300 (plus tape). Things were soooo expensive in those days ;-)"
